Rev. Melinda Sparks is a mother of four children: Colby, Anna Catherine, Sam, Jack David and grandmother to A.J. She grew up in Belmont, MS, a rural town in the northeastern corner of the state and has lived in Huntsville for 12 years. She has an undergraduate degree in religious Studies from Athens State and is working on her graduate degree in the same field and will graduate in May 2020.
She has worked in ministry to children, youth, college-age, young adults and women for over 25 years as well as teaching and preaching during this time.
Melinda is an avid reader. She is rarely without a book in her hands but is seriously challenged in domestic skills, in particular, cooking. Her favorite authors are Anne Lamott, Richard Rohr, Glennon Melton, Barbara Brown Taylor, John Grisham, and Rachel Held Evans.
